Sustainable Aviation Fuel Adelaide Seminar 2024 (as part of The 34th Annual Conference of Chinese Economics Society Australia)
Event description
The UniSA Aviation team is dedicated to researching decarbonisation strategies of the aviation industry. In 2024, we were honoured to receive funding from the National Foundation of Australia-China Relations (under the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade), which supports our efforts to foster greater collaboration between China and Australia across the SAF value chain. In addition to monitoring global policy shifts in SAF, particularly in major airline markets such as the US, EU, and ASEAN countries (which may serve as potential feedstock exporters and carbon credit suppliers), we aim to promote international cooperation.
From this year until 2026, we will be organising forums, workshops, and other events in various Chinese cities, Adelaide, and Melbourne. These events are designed to engage key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry partners, and academics, to collaboratively address the challenges of the SAF transition and enhance business collaboration across the value chain.
The Adelaide SAF Seminar on 27 November is part of the SAF project plan. This event will be jointly hosted by UniSA Aviation team and Chinese Economics Society Australia. The SAF seminars will be part of the 2-day economic conference.
