Sustainable Centre Visit to Presbyterian Ladies College ELC
Event description
Join us for a special Sustainable Centre Visit to Presbyterian Ladies’ College Early Learning Centre (ELC)—an inspiring opportunity for early childhood educators and professionals to see sustainability embedded meaningfully into everyday practice.
The ELC provides education and care for children aged six months to school age, and operates 48 weeks of the year. Its sustainability journey is grounded in inquiry, intentionality, and deep listening to children’s voices as they respond to the evolving indoor and outdoor environments.
Educators will share how sustainability is integrated through a project-based approach, where curiosity, collaboration, and care for the natural world drive learning. You’ll have the opportunity to explore how projects have been co-designed in partnership with the Project Sustainability Collective, and inspired by both Environmental Education in Early Childhood (EEEC) and the Australian Early Childhood Sustainability Alliance.
During the visit, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• Tour Presbyterian Ladies’ College ELC and observe sustainability in action
• Hear a short presentation on the centre’s sustainability journey and project approach
• Explore children’s learning stories and projects that reflect their engagement with sustainability
• Engage in meaningful conversations with fellow educators who share your values and vision
• Exchange practical strategies and ideas to strengthen sustainability in your own setting
• Reflect on the power of ‘making’ as a way to slow down, observe deeply, and honour the learning process
This visit affirms the ELC’s commitment to a philosophy rooted in relationships, reciprocity, and responsive learning—where children, educators, and families co-create resilient, connected learning communities prepared for the future.
Whether you’re just beginning your sustainability journey or looking to deepen and refine your practice, this event offers rich opportunities for professional learning, reflection, and connection.
Don’t miss this chance to learn, share, and grow with others committed to sustainability in early childhood education.
We look forward to welcoming you.
