    Event description

You are invited to the first Sustainable Community Clothing Swap for 2024, on Saturday the 2nd of March at The Joinery.

Swapping your clothing promotes the reduction, reuse, and recycling of clothing!

You are invited to the first Sustainable Community Clothing Swap for 2024, at "The Joinery" (111 Franklin Street, Adelaide CBD), a community connected by a love for nature, sustainable living, and a desire to lead positive change.

NEVER BEEN TO A SWAP BEFORE? HERE'S HOW IT WORKS.
    1. Simply gather a minimum of 5-10 pieces of clothing which are in good, wearable condition.

    2. Drop your donations into the Sustainable Clothing Co. store between Monday the 26th of Feb and Friday the 1st of March between 10am-5pm (24A Charles Street, Adelaide City, just off Rundle Mall) and we will take your items to the venue the morning of the event.
If you can't make it into town, you are still welcome to bring your in on the morning of the swap to The Joinery as well.

    3. On the day of the event (Saturday the 2nd of March) come to the Joinery and pick up some new-to-you clothing to take home!
The number of items you bring in is the same number of items you can take home.

TICKETING: Get your pre-paid $5 tickets, or pay with cash or card at the door on the day.

    ***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***
ACCEPTED ITEMS FOR SWAPPING: both ladies and men's clothing: Tops, T-shirts, pants, jackets, sweaters, dresses, skirts, shirts, blouses, crop tops, bralettes, leather, denim, knitwear, blazers, coats, shorts, bodysuits, play-suits, jumpsuits, vests, leggings, sportswear, hats, bags, purses, shoes, jewellery, scarves, belts.

Excluded items include formal wear, underwear, socks, babies clothing and children’s wear.

FACILITIES: Toilets are accessible on the ground floor of the building, and can also be used as change rooms.

PARKING: Street parking is available on Franklin Street and Morphett Street, and the nearest pay carparks can be found on Franklin Street, in the U-Park (entry via Andrew Street) and above the new Adelaide Bus Depot (entry on Grote Street).

This Swap Event is brought to you by Sustainable Clothing Co. and the Adelaide Sustainability Centre. The Adelaide Sustainability Centre is funded by Green Adelaide and supported by Conservation Council of SA.

For EVENT ENQUIRIES please contact Sustainable Clothing Co. via the Facebook Event page or on Instagram @sustainableclothingco.

At the end of the swap, the majority of the remaining clothing will be donated onto supporting homelessness, ex-prisoners and women's shelters, along with Housing Choices SA (providing safe, secure and affordable rental housing) and the Anti Poverty Network (alliance of people affected and concerned by the effects of poverty and unemployment in Australia).

Please note, the clothes swap is not a dumping ground for stained, ripped, unwearable clothing, instead ask us how we can recycle your damaged goods and consider bringing items to the swap that you would give to family and friends.
