When: Saturday 7 June & 14 June 2025, 9.30am-12.30pm.
Where: The Regent Centre (Senior Citizens Centre), 4 Robinson Road, Reservoir
$30 booking fee - for this 2-day workshop
Level: Beginner - Intermediate
In this 2-day, hands-on workshop, you’ll have access to workshop tools and a woodworking teacher to support you to repair or upcycle your own project.
Bring your own small timber furniture piece, (e.g. a chair, stool, small table or drawers) to work on.
You will learn to:
· assess if an item is repairable or not
· research techniques to repair or up-cycle your own project
· plan & repair issues at hand.
Tools & techniques to be introduced :
· Dowel joinery and clamping.
· Sanding & filler in timber
· Discussion on finishing techniques for timber furniture.
You will be required to bring in your own timbers or replacement parts for your projects. Advice will be given about what you’ll need.
Facilitator Maylei Hunt is passionate about sustainable furniture and has been teaching creative workshops for over 15 years. @mayleithespoonmaker
This workshop is limited to 8 adult participants. There will be a waiting list.
If you book and become unable to attend, please cancel your booking so someone on the waiting list can be offered a place.
If you cancel 7 days or more before the event, we can offer a full refund.

Getting to the venue
- Regent Railway Station, on the Mernda Line, is right next to the venue.
- Bus Route 553 runs along Regent Street Reservoir and there is a stop just near the corner with Robinson Road, which is less than 5 minutes walk to the venue.
- If coming by car, there is plenty of parking in the railway station car park as well as some spots in the Regent Centre car park.
