Sustainable House Tour, Central Otago

The Sustainable House Tour for Central Otago is once again on the calendar.

This tour will invite tour-goers to take in the various elements of sustainability in building through visiting four different houses. Understand building techniques, considerations made by builders and owners, and take the opportunity to meet and chat with the people who live in these homes. Find out what they love about their sustainable builds and what challenges they overcame during the process of dream to reality.

The tour will start and finish at Vallance Cottage, Alexandra; a heritage listed building. Made of mud-brick this cottage has undergone a major restoration by a group of caring volunteers. Origin consultants will conduct this final part of the tour, speaking to the restoration of the cottage and construction of mud-bricks for a historic building. 

Proceeds from this event will go toward supporting the continued restoration of Vallance Cottage.
