This workshop has been convened to focus specifically on how sustainable procurement levers can accelerate the scaled uptake of lower-carbon cement and concrete across major infrastructure and building programs across Australia.

Sustainable procurement is one of the most powerful levers in Australia’s decarbonisation journey — and CCAA is stepping forward to provide national leadership. With every state and territory implementing procurement frameworks linked to embodied emissions and recycled content, the market is shifting quickly. The cement and concrete sector is continuing to innovate and deliver lower-carbon solutions to meet customers needs.

Our discussion will centre on the procurement settings that materially influence adoption — including carbon measurement frameworks, lifecycle assessment, EPD integration, specification reform, and risk allocation — and how these can be aligned to enable more sustainable outcomes while maintaining safety, durability, and performance standards.

We are seeking your attendance and strategic insights to ensure the workshop delivers practical, high-impact outcomes for both government and industry.

The outcomes will inform CCAA’s ongoing engagement with government and industry, and provide important input to CCAA-led activities on sustainable procurement.
