The 2025 Sustainable Trails Conference organised by TRC Tourism, is Australia and New Zealand’s leading gathering for professionals in the recreation and tourism trails industry. Our Sustainable Trails Conference has consistently provided a platform for trail development, management, operators and marketing professionals to network, share ideas and upskill. The conference will take place from 28 to 30 October 2025 in the picturesque and renowned trail destination of Dwellingup Western Australia!

Nestled just over an hour from Perth CBD, Dwellingup has transformed from a charming former timber mill town into a dynamic and thriving adventure tourism town with a particular focus on trails.  Known for its breathtaking natural landscapes Dwellingup offers over 100 kilometres of sanctioned MTB trails and is a destination along the renowned Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail making Dwellingup the town “where trails meet”.

Recent investments have led to the development of the Dwellingup Trails and Visitor Centre featuring cutting-edge visitor technology, a themed café and ample facilities for relaxation and recreation.

In April this year Dwellingup was rewarded with official “Trail Town” status for its well developed trails, natural assets, services and infrastructure, cafes, shops accommodation and for its supportive community.

Are you a trail professional that is wild at heart? Join us for this three-day event nestled in the trail town itself that promises engaging keynote speakers, insightful case studies and interactive field trips. Connect with trail users, designers, planners, land managers, operators and volunteers to explore the future of sustainable trails.

The conference will focus on all aspects of sustainable trails.

Registration covers:

  • Conference attendance: Tuesday 28 October (commencing 9.00am) – Thursday 30 October (concluding 10pm)

  • Conference day catering: Tuesday 28 October to Thursday 30 October (conference breaks and lunch)

  • Welcome function dinner: Tuesday 28 October

  • Conference Field Trip: Wednesday 29 October (review option before commencing registration here: Field Trips - TRC Tourism

  • Gala dinner: Thursday 30 October

Attendees can choose from one of four field trips covering cycling, walking or MTB. Bike hire is included (if required) - bikes will be analogue and suited to the ride you chose. Please make your field trip selection on your registration form.

Registrations open until 5 October 2025. Places are limited, get in early!

The 2025 conference is supported by the Shire of Murray Council, and collective sponsorship has been provided from The Shire of Murray, Tourism WA, The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), the Peel Development Commission and Trails WA.
