Sustainable Business Pitch Night | Spaceship x Fishburners

Every Friday night from 5pm, Fishburners opens its doors to host Shark Tank style, Friday Night Pitches. We are a non for profit community of entrepreneurs that is dedicated to growing tech startups - and this is Australia's largest, most regular event in the ecosystem.

If you're looking for inspiration to start a business, are keen to learn some pitch tips, or just want to find out what startups are new in Sydney, this is for you. It's a great event for current entrepreneurs or anyone interested in entrepreneurship but not sure where to start.

We’ve teamed up with Spaceship to bring you this sustainability themed night! Spaceship is on a mission to make investing simple, accessible and affordable for everyone with their Voyager app. Spaceship Voyager managed funds have no minimum investment and absolutely no fees on your first $5,000 invested. They’re also hiring for a bunch of roles at boards.greenhouse.io/spaceship!

In 2019, we will be asking for a $5 donation for our pitch nights at the door or via the ticketing platform, Humanitix. In addition to putting the ticket booking fee toward Room to Read - our charity of choice, we will be directing this money back into the Fishburners community and toward some of our event costs (such as drinks & snacks).

The event schedule for Friday Night Pitches is as follows:

• 5PM: Networking & drinks

• 5:30PM: Pitches begin. Grab a seat! No talking during this time :)

• 6:30PM-8PM (approx.): Networking

• 8PM: Event concludes

Please note that Fishburners values inclusive communities and all events hosted here are governed by our community code of conduct. This stems from our desire to run a productive and valuable night for our founders and all attendees where everyone feels safe and welcome to attend, bring friends, meet new people, and enjoy the start up landscape.

To make sure we have the best environment in support of this, in cases where someone is detracting from this goal they may be asked to leave for excessive drinking, antisocial behaviour, speaking during the pitches or disengagement with the purpose of the night. If any issues arise that make you feel uncomfortable please don’t hesitate to come and speak to one of the team.
