SVP Denver Solution Session: Housing & Homelessness
Event description
Explore solutions to Denver’s housing and homelessness crisis with leading experts and see a new affordable housing project in our next Solution Session Event!
We will hear from local leaders who are not only driving research and discussion on housing and homelessness, but are also on the ground supporting unhoused folks in our community. They’ll share the gaps they see in our current system and share their perspectives on what’s really needed to make change.
Here are our presenters:
- Dr. Jamie Rife - Executive Director of the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative
- Dede de Percin - CEO of Colorado Village Collaborative
- Marcus Weaver - Deputy Director of Community Outreach Service Center and Founder of The People’s Pickles
The Venue - Charity’s House Apartments
This session is hosted at a community space in the newly opened Charity’s House Apartments, a 36-unit apartment complex that provides affordable housing in the booming Five Points neighborhood of Denver. From the vision of Mrs. Eddie and Pastor Bob Woolfolk, long-time community advocates in Five Points, this new building is supported by the Community Outreach Service Center.
We hope you will join us on this day to engage in critical conversations and experience community connection in a new way at the Charity’s House Apartments.
What We’ll Do
- Socialize and connect! Chat with interesting people who want to make an impact in Denver and get those collaborations started.
- Listen and learn! Presenters will each have a short amount of time to speak on their work and the issues facing the state of homelessness in Denver. There will be time to ask questions of each presenter and to catch up with them after the formal presentations.

About the Solution Session Series Event
SVP Denver is hosting an event series intended to create authentic community connections, education and action. For each event in this series we meet at unique venues across Metro Denver to hear from local changemakers working on solutions to a significant challenge relevant to the city (workforce development, homelessness & housing, education equity, etc.). There will be time to network, learn and engage.
