🌈 Launch of Research Matters: Why do we need LGBTIQA+ inclusive youth services, hosted by Olivia Brozecki (She/They)

For LGBTIQA+ young people, youth workers may often be the first adults that they turn to when they need support. We know that LGBTIQA+ young people are more likely to access and benefit from services they know to be consistently affirming of their identities and experiences. That's why the team at Rainbow Network and Rainbow Health Australia have produced a new factsheet called *Research Matters: Why do we need LGBTIQA+ inclusive youth services?* This resource draws together the latest research on LGBTIQA+ health and wellbeing and contextualises it into practical guidance to help inform and guide youth sector workers and youth service planning. Come along to the launch and learn how to reduce the impact of stigma, family rejection and family-of-origin violence, discrimination, and structural exclusion (or minority stress) on LGBTQA+ young people, and understand what we know about the experiences of young people with innate variations of sex characteristics, also known as intersex. Download or pick up a printed copy on the day: https://opal.latrobe.edu.au/articles/educational_resource/Research_Matters_Why_do_we_need_LGBTIQA_inclusive_youth_services_/33102680 ) Olivia Brozecki (She/They) Liv is the coordinator of Rainbow Network, a Vic-wide program that supports the LGBTIQA+ youth sector with advice, training and resources.
