Event description

Swap 'til You Drop Social Mixer

Date: Thursday, 19th December

Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Location: Brunswick, TBA

Join us for a vibrant afternoon of community connection at the Bigger Sister Channel end of year Swap 'til You Drop Social Mixer. This event is a unique opportunity to connect with others in the community, support our Mutual Aid Program, win a prize and take home some new (pre-loved threads)!

Inspired by Bigger Sister’s first principle - financial sustainability, we’ve decided to include a clothes swap in our end of year social event. This will give members of the community the opportunity to pick up some new items for work and as well as share items they no longer need.

What to Expect:

  • Networking & Social Opportunities: Get to know fellow community members in a relaxed, fun setting. Icebreakers and games?
  • Fundraising for the Mutual Aid Program: All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to supporting the BSC Mutual Aid Program.
  • Clothes/Item Swap: Promote sustainability while refreshing your wardrobe or sharing items you no longer need.
  • Light Refreshments: Grazing boards and non-alcoholic drinks will be available.*
  • Prizes: Participate in our raffle or guess how many condoms are in the jar for your chance to win a prize.

Please note: This is an alcohol free event. We will do our best to accommodate for dietary requirements and allergies, but we cannot guarantee cross contamination will not occur. If you have an allergy or food intolerance please partake at your own risk.

What’s Included in Your Ticket:

  • Entry to the event
  • 1 ticket to the raffle
  • Light refreshments
  • Community clothes swap
  • Networking opportunities with our incredible community
  • A BSC tote bag, magnet and stickers*
  • A special lingerie giveaway donated by Malgraphix valued at over $1600*

*These items are limited, so get there early if you don’t want to miss out!

Clothes Swap – Refresh your Wardrobe.

As part of our Swap 'til You Drop Social Mixer, we’re hosting a Clothes Swap where you can bring gently used, work-appropriate items to trade with others! It’s a fantastic way to refresh your wardrobe while promoting financial sustainability and sharing resources within the community.

How it Works:

  • Bring your items on the day! We encourage you to bring clothes on hangers if possible (especially for hanging items like dresses, shirts, and coats) to make browsing easier.
  • Your items will be organised in our swap area where guests can browse, try on, and take home what they like!
What You Can Bring:
What We Don’t Accept:
We welcome all sex work appropriate items, including:
  • Dresses, shirts, pants, coats, and shoes
  • Lingerie and costumes
  • Bags, jewellery, and accessories
  • Active wear and swimwear (bikinis, bathing suits)
  • Unused or properly sanitised kink and sex toys
Please avoid bringing anything that:
  • Isn’t suitable for sex work settings
  • Is dirty, broken, or heavily worn out
  • is unsafe body quality (i.e non body grade sex toys), or cannot be sanitised.

Important:

All items must be clean and, if applicable, sanitised (especially for personal items like toys, lingerie or swimwear). We want to ensure everything is in good condition for everyone to enjoy!

What will happen to anything left over from the event:

All items left over will be donated to various charitable organisations that share Bigger Sister Channel values. Anything that cannot be donated will be disposed of safely.

Let’s Keep It Inclusive!

We believe everyone should be able to attend, regardless of financial circumstances. That's why we are offering community access tickets at no cost, with no questions asked. If you're unable to afford the $20 minimum ticket price, please feel free to select a community access ticket. If you can afford to purchase a ticket, we kindly ask that you do so. Your support helps cover our running costs, ensures we can continue offering free tickets to those who need them, and contributes to the financial sustainability of our organisation. Thank you for your understanding and support.

The more diverse our donations, the more options everyone will have! We encourage all guests to bring items, so we can offer a wide variety of clothing and accessories for people of different styles, sizes, and preferences. Let’s make this swap fun and inclusive for everyone!

4. Flexibility and Updates

  • Our policy may be updated based on the latest health guidance. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility should any changes be necessary.

Thank you for helping us make this event a safe and enjoyable experience for all!
