Clothing swap sustainability

Clothing swap events are a great choice for reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable fashion:

Reduces textile waste: UN Climate Change states that annually, 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases are emitted from textiles production; contributing to climate change and environmental damage. But this can change. We’re now taking action to reduce overconsumption to keep clothes out of landfill and in circularity for as long as possible. .
Saves $$$: Clothing swaps are an affordable way to update your wardrobe without spending a lot of money.
Promotes sustainable fashion: The fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world, with a significant impact on the environment and human rights. Community markets promote sustainable fashion, reducing the demand for new clothes, and supporting ethical and sustainable fashion practices.
Encourages community engagement: Clothing swaps are a fun and social way to connect with others. They provide an opportunity to meet new people, share fashion tips and ideas, and build a sense of community around sustainable living.
Supports local charity: Did you know that buying second-hand clothing reduces carbon emissions by an average of 25%? By supporting those who help our community, you can make a difference.🫶🏼
