🕉️ The Setting

Your immersion takes place at the Swatantra Jnana Dhana Illam (Abode of Wisdom) in Tiruvannamalai, one of India’s most sacred pilgrimage sites.

The Illam has been lovingly designed to support inner stillness, self-expression, and deep rest, surrounded by nature and magnificent views of Arunachala.

Your private room includes:

Ensuite bathroom
Air-conditioning
Balcony area
Rooftop access - sunrise with Arunachala
Clean, safe, and peaceful environment
Lovingly home-cooked high-pranic meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)

🌿 What is Swatantra?

Swatantra is not a method or belief system — it is a way of being, a living embodiment of freedom, inclusion, and the direct self-realisation of one’s true nature.

Emerging from Shrinandanji’s state of inner silence and awareness, the Swatantra Sadhana offers safe embodied approaches into deeper dimensions of being. Unique guided practices including Garuda Pranayama, Shudi Kriya, Naga Pranayama, mantra and mudra activate transformative shifts in energy, perception, and presence.

Each immersion is personalised — adapted to your unique nature, needs, and readiness.

Swatantra empowers you to dissolve inner limitations and open into greater clarity, connection, joy, and peace.

🙏 Meet Shrinandanji

For over 25 years, Shrinandanji has shared from his own lived experience of self-realisation.

Sitting one-on-one with each person as a unique individual, he has guided and supported many people into deeper states of contentment, aliveness and awareness. His steadiness, clarity and unconditional compassionate presence activates powerful shifts within the energy system, These shifts can be experienced not just at an intellectual level, but at a deeper cellular level.

Shrinandanji's inclusive and practical approach demystifies spirituality, gives clarity beyond concepts and makes real connection accessible to everyone.

“I am no-one, doing nothing — everything is just a happening.”
— Shrinandanji

Sylvia Vana Selvy

Sylvia was given the name Vana Selvy while living with Shrinandanji in 2022. Since connecting with Swatantra, she has experienced radical transformations in her life and energies, which continue to unfold.

Practicing as a certified yoga and meditation instructor for over a decade, Sylvia is also passionate about dance and conscious movement, with qualifications & experience in somatic movement therapy, expressive arts & psychotherapy (Gestalt). Sylvia also shares VortexHealing™ and Vedic Samvahan healing sessions.

She has been teaching and sharing the Swatantra Sadhana and homa (fire ceremony) practices since 2022. She is grateful for the opportunity to share these experiences with all who feel called.

Sylvia’s offerings also draw on a rich tapestry of professional and personal experiences, including 15 years of legal practice with refugee and First Nation communities across varied contexts, including refugee communities and Indigenous traditional owners in remote Central Australian Desert. She also works with First Nation and diverse ability individuals and group in community arts dance and movement. These experiences support her understanding of trauma-informed, compassionate approaches. The strength, wisdom, and resilience she witnesses in her work continues to inspire her commitment to empowerment, expression, and connection with nature as means of individual, community and broader transformation.
