Penny is a passionate fibre and textile artist based on the Gold Coast. She stitches and weaves whenever she can to create wonderful and thoughtful works of art. This December come along to Currumbin RSL and immerse yourself in two wonderful workshops, Japanese Sashiko Stitching and Raffia Weaving.
Japanese Sashiko Stitching Workshop
In this workshop you will learn how a simple running stitch can create a beautiful design. This will be an introduction to this very mindful traditional Japanese needlework.
You will make a fabric mat for your cup with your stitching on one side and beautiful Japanese fabric on the other. All materials will be provided including vintage kimono cloth, contemporary Japanese fabrics, threads and needles.
We will stitch together for 2 hours.
Two workshops times to choose from ages 12+
Beginners welcome!
Date: Tuesday 12 December
Times: 2pm to 4pm & 5pm to 7pm (two time slots)
Location: Currumbin RSL on the Deck
Cost: $44 including all materials
