SWIM Networking Morning Tea
Description
Join UQ SWIM at our Networking Morning Tea on the 17th of May, Sunday 9:00am-12:30pm for a morning of connection and growth.
While International Women's Day has passed, we believe the momentum of empowerment shouldn't stop there. Our networking event is designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and clinical life. Hear from a panel of leading specialists as they share their unfiltered journeys, offering practical advice on navigating career challenges, maintaining work-life balance, and building the clinical courage needed to thrive. Come ready to listen, learn, and expand your support network.
The event will include a panel of speakers – from a variety of specialties including the Royal Flying Doctor service, anaesthesiology, cardiology and research – focussing on three core themes:
Bridging the Gap: Moving from the classroom to the complexities of intern, resident and specialist training
Navigating Challenges: Strategies for overcoming gender discrimination and systemic hurdles
Sustainability: Managing the delicate balance between a demanding career and personal well-being
When: 17th May Sunday 9:00am-12:30pm
Where: Room 2007 TRI (opposite Café Catalyst)
Who: Open to ALL students (from all year levels and all genders) 💜💜💜
