Swimmable Cities - World Water Day 2025 celebration
Event description
The inaugural Swimmable Cities Summit is now set for June 22-24 in Rotterdam, so we're organising a series of pre-Summit events to start building the conversation. They're going to be a great experience for people who are planning to attend in Rotterdam, and for those who will be will us in spirit (and perhaps online).
So, for Event #1, let's celebrate World Water Day 2025 (March 22)!
The theme for this year is 'Glacier Preservation'. Of course, our collective work in transforming urban waterways is linked to cities' climate action and adaptation strategies. Literally, being able to cool off during heat waves is one of the reasons that we believe in the Right to Swim. But as we know, we have to go upstream to tackle the root causes of both climate issues as well as the health of aquatic and marine ecosystems.
