    Summer Swimming Program #1

    Dates: Wednesday 1 February - Wednesday 5 April (10 weeks)

    Time: 7pm - 8pm

    Location: HBF Arena, Kennedya Dr, Joondalup WA 6027, Australia

    Cost:  The cost of the summer training programs has been discounted by Special Olympics WA. As a result, registered Special Olympics athletes can participate for free.

    Focus: 

    Special Olympics Sport Training Programs are for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. The programs are focused on enhancing the skills of each athlete in their chosen sport, ensuring they are ready to compete at Special Olympics' local, state and national competitions. The program is delivered by qualified coaches, with support from our dedicated volunteers, and is complementary to an athlete's regular sport training.

    Sessions include: 

    - Skill-development workout drills, activities and assessments

    - Individual goal setting for athletes  

    - Practice competition opportunities

    - Performance feedback and support

    Who can get involved? 

    - Registered Special Olympics athlete members

    - Athletes who have experience and knowledge in the sport 

    - Athletes who want to improve their skills to compete in upcoming local, state and national competitions. 

    - Athletes who are comfortable in a group setting, where support is provided at a 1 staff to 4 athlete ratio. 

    How to register: 

    To join the program, athletes must register online via this page by Sunday 29 January

    Kindly note, coaches will need to see each athlete's program confirmation email at the first training session. 

    Not yet a member? Individuals who aren't members yet are welcome to come and try a session. If you would like to arrange a free pass, please contact Special Olympics WA at info.wa@specialolympics.com.au.
