Swinburne at Midsumma 2024 Pride March

Midsumma Pride March is a signature event, where historically up to 10,500 marchers normally take to the streets down Fitzroy Street in St Kilda each year and over 45,000 people line the streets and balconies along the march route to show their support.

We will meet up at Fitzrovia Café at 11 am, or join us at the Ian Johnston Oval (Wave N) at 11:30 am. Look out for the Swinburne teardrop banners with pride stripes.

Once you find the Swinburne group, make sure you get your name ticked off by one of the Swinburne Ally Network committee members to grab your wristband for the event, every person in our group is required to wear a wristband (don't stress there's plenty spare if you bring extra folks on the day).

There's quite a bit of waiting around until it's time for our marshalling group to line-up and march, so please be prepared with whatever you need to stay comfortable whilst waiting.
 
Important things to bring:

• BYO hat, sunscreen, sunglasses & water bottle (refill stations available)
• Snacks to munch on whilst waiting (there's also food available to purchase nearby)
  
• Personal medication you might need (asthma puffer, antihistamines, panadol etc.)
• Earplugs/loops if you are someone with sound sensitivity
• Dress as colourful, fun, loud and proud as you want!
