Midwinter Swing Festival - Swingin' on Stafford
Event description
It's the last night of the Midwinter Swing Festival so you know we'll be dancing! We'll be swingin' up a storm in the stunningly renovated "Ross and Glendining" historic building. Ross & Glendining Ltd was at one time the largest manufacturing company in New Zealand, and part of a thriving domestic industry in textiles and clothing. Let's all honour this building's history in the rag trade by wearing your fave vintage swing era outfit.
Skin & Bone are a swing, string and sing unit from the gin-and-tonic end of the "Cowboy Lounge" and, boy, can they play a mean tune.
A taster class to teach you the basics opens the event at 7:00pm.
Details: catering provided, cash bar (EFTPOS facilities available)
Doors: 6:30pm (Band starts at 8:00pm)
Taster dance class for absolute beginners: 7 - 8pm
