Swiss Italian Festa- Yandoit's Stone Houses Tour – October 2026

Yandoit Cultural is hosting another stone houses tour as part of this year’s Swiss Italian Festa.

We will gather at Yandoit Cultural, the old church in the bush, and screen a short video clip of forth-generation descendant, Maurie Gervasoni, sharing some history about one of Yandoit’s grandest stone houses. Maurie also plays a few pieces on his piano accordion, which he and his family used to do for dances at the old stone house. 

Then we will travel by mini buses, as well as car-pool, to several old stone houses in Yandoit, with the chance to wander around and to hear more stories and history.

We will finish up at the grand stone house, now renovated by locals Marnie and Dale, whose initial efforts are recorded on ABC TV’s Grand Designs. At the grand house- bullboar sausages, games of bocci and beverages will all be available.
