Beats to Draw 2
Description
After a sold out launch in 2025, 'Beats to Draw to' is back and expanded!
Experience a harmonious blend of art and music, where audiences are invited to participate in creating works of art in the inspiring company of live musical performances.
Hosted at Studio Take Care, this event welcomes artists of all levels, from seasoned professionals to enthusiastic amateurs, to unleash their inner artist while enjoying live music from Naarm’s local scene.
Set to an acoustic soulful vibe, the event will feature costumed life drawing (uninstructed), where the music, model and lighting cues synchronise, allowing us to create a dynamic participatory experience. There will be 3 hours of drawing/performances, followed by an hour to mingle, debrief and chill.
Light snacks will be provided.
This event is presented by South By South East Asian (SXSEA) and Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV) as part of Newprint 4, supported by Creative Victoria and Creative Australia.

Lineup

Myhoa
Myhoa is a Vietnamese artist. Born in Russia, raised in Vietnam, and now relocated to Melbourne for her creative calling. She loves singing and playing the guitar, and what she does is a natural blend of both.

Tea for Three
Tea for Three is a 3-piece pop/jazz band of vocal, guitar and smooth saxophone. The three members of the band came from Thailand, but they met in Melbourne through a common love in music. This trio plays covers of old and new hits with the jazz/bossa spin to them. You can follow Tea for Three's journey and be informed of their upcoming events by following them on Instagram: tea.for.three.band

Benjamin Trillado
Benjamin Trillado is a queer Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter from Naarm (Melbourne) who writes songs for anyone who’s ever cried on public transport or made a major life decision based on a gut feeling and a tarot reading. His music blends heartfelt storytelling with lyrics that make you go, “Ouch... but also, same.” Born and raised in Melbourne’s western suburbs (shoutout to Sunshine Plaza), Benjamin discovered his love for music after a flyer for guitar lessons was handed out in primary school. That flyer led to a life of emotional voice memos, awkward school performances, and gigs in tiny local cafés. These days, Benjamin has performed on some of Melbourne’s most iconic stages and worked alongside Australian music royalty like Boy & Bear, Sarah Blasko, Ben Abraham, and The Dreggs, solidifying his place as a beloved figure in the local music scene. His songwriting has also reached audiences around the world with his debut single Glue, which started off as a university project, has now racked up over 700,000 streams on Spotify.
