SYC POKER RUN - ALL HANDS ON DECK 2024

Ahoy there, me hearties! Do you have what it takes to compete in the Southport Yacht Club's Poker Run called "ALL HANDS ON DECK 2024"? If you're looking for an event that promises fun, food, and drinks, while exploring your boating skills, then this is the event for you! Proudly sponsored by SHORT MARINE and hosted by the SYC POWERBOAT DIVISION, this event is open to all Members and Supporters with any type of registered vessel.
Join us on SATURDAY APRIL 13 from 9AM-3PM as we set sail from 5 different locations, with stops at Dux and Main Beach. For just $50 registration of your team (includes your team poker hand and 2 persons) and $15 extra (for each additional crew but no extra hand), you'll get the chance to win a share of the $3500 Prizepool 'CLUBCASH' prizes for the best 'poker hands' or maybe take away the 'Best Dressed' award.
NOTE: This year you can purchase more than one team per vessel, but ONLY one team per Member/Supporter
Remember, at least one Member/Supporter must be present on the participating team vessel (you may purchase 1 Team per Member/Supporter, and can have more than 1 Team per vessel), and we promise to keep your bellies full with snacks at Dux and finger food/refreshments at Main Beach. So grab your mates and family to come join us for a day of fun, food, and boating. The Southport Yacht Club is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Poker Run event. As a participant, you will visit at least four designated stops along the route and choose a playing card at each stop. The goal is to have the best five-card stud poker hand by the end of the event.
To ensure that everyone has a great time, we have established a few rules for the Poker Run event. You must visit at least four of the five stops to be eligible to win. At each stop, you will draw a playing card from a deck of cards, and the team card will be recorded by the event officials. The order of stops does not matter, and you can visit them in any order you choose. If you only visit four stops, you must purchase a 5th card at Main Beach in order to present a team 'hand' of five cards. If you do visit all five stops, you may purchase 1 additional card at Main Beach to replace one of the others.
It is important to note that the Poker Run is not a race, and speeding or reckless driving will not be tolerated. Safety is our top priority, and we want everyone to enjoy the event in a safe and responsible manner.
To be eligible for the prize, you must present your hand to the event officials at Main Beach, and you must be present to claim your prize. In the case of a tie for a prize, the winner will be determined by a random draw.
We hope that everyone has a great time at the Southport Yacht Club Poker Run event. Some more rules;
1. Each skipper must have a valid boat license and insurance.
2. Stops may be visited in any order between 9am to 3pm. "Hands'' must be submitted at Main Beach between 2pm to 3:30pm.
3. The poker run is not a race.
4. At each stop, participants will draw a card to create a 5-card poker hand.
5. Participants must visit at least 4 of the 5 stops, and submit a poker sheet with 5 cards recorded on it in order to be eligible for prizes.
6. One card may be purchased at Main Beach to make a 5th card, or to replace another card in the hand.
7. Participants must obey all local boating laws and regulations.
8. A re-draw must occur if the card drawn has already been drawn by that vessel. ie. a hand cannot contain duplicate cards.
9. Poker Run Record sheets must be handed into the Poker Desk at Main Beach between 2pm and 3:30pm.
10. The event organizers have the right to disqualify or remove any participant who violates these rules or engages in unsafe or reckless behaviour.
Prizes will be awarded at Main Beach from 4pm.
