SYC POKER RUN - ALL HANDS ON DECK 2025
Event description
Ahoy there, me hearties! If you're looking for an event that promises fun, food, and drinks, while exploring your boating skills, then Southport Yacht Club's Poker Run "ALL HANDS ON DECK 2025" is for you! Proudly sponsored by SHORT MARINE and hosted by the SYC POWER BOAT DIVISION, this event is open to all Members and Supporters with any type of registered vessel.
Join us on water SATURDAY APRIL 12, 2025. For just $60 registration of your team (includes your team poker hand and 2 persons) and $20 extra (for each additional crew but no extra poker hand), you'll get the chance to win a share of the $3500 Prize Pool 'CLUBCASH' prizes for the best 'Poker Hands' or maybe take away the 'Best Dressed' award.
As a participant, you will visit at least four designated stops along the route and choose a playing card at each stop. The goal is to have the best five-card stud poker hand by the end of the event.
Remember, at least one Member/Supporter (OR Short Marine Customer) must be present on each participating team. You may purchase 1 Team per Member/Supporter (OR Short Marine Customer), and can have more than 1 Team per vessel. This is a family-friendly event, so don't miss out on this opportunity to get out on the water and have some fun.
There will be a sausage sizzle at Dux, as well as finger food and refreshments at Main Beach, along with other goodies along the way.
To ensure that everyone has a great time, we have established a few rules for the Poker Run event.
1. Each skipper must have a valid boat license and insurance.
2. Participants must obey all local boating laws and regulations.
3. It is important to note that the Poker Run is not a race and speeding or reckless driving will not be tolerated. Safety is our top priority, and we want everyone to enjoy the event in a safe and responsible manner.
4. Participants must visit at least 4 of the 5 stops, where they will draw a card. You cannot swap cards amongst teams. Your drawn card will be recorded by event officials.
5. If you choose not to visit 5 stops you may purchase your 5th card at Main Beach.
6. You may also purchase “6th” card to replace another card in the hand.
7. A re-draw must occur if the card drawn has already been drawn by that team. ie. a hand cannot contain duplicate cards.
8. Stops may be visited in any order between 9am to 3pm. To be eligible for the prize Final "Hands'' must be submitted at Main Beach between 2pm to 3:30pm. You must attend the presentation to claim your prize.
9. The event organizers have the right to disqualify or remove any participant who violates these rules or engages in unsafe or reckless behaviour.
10. In the case of a tie for a prize, the winner will be determined by a random draw.
Prizes will be awarded at Main Beach from 4pm.
