SYD Polaroid Lift Pop Up
Description
This ticketing page is for Sydney
Maraschino presents polaroid emulsion lift workshops
Each ticket includes:
everything you need to make a lovely polaroid emulsion lift onto watercolour paper, glass, or a sea shell
a couple extras you'll see on the day
Info:
Polaroid emulsion lifts are a technique in which you separate the image layer from a polaroid and transfer it onto paper, glass etc
Watercolour paper, glass, and small sea shells are provided but feel free to bring along a rock or something else to transfer onto (more info in FAQ)
Each attendee must purchase a ticket and we limit to ages 12+ please
We advise you to wear the provided gloves when handling the exposed polaroid during the event, especially if you have sensitive skin
Please don't be late! We have multiple sessions throughout the day and we want you to enjoy the full workshop
Since we're working with polaroid chemicals, please make sure to not eat/drink without washing your hands first
Photos and videos may be taken during the event for promotional purposes, please let us know on the day if you don't want to be photographed!
Unfortunately the art studio isn't accessible and requires attendees to walk up two flights of stairs
If you have any questions, feel free to dm on instagram @marashiiino
FAQs
- Do we take the polaroid on the day? Can I pick a digital photo to turn into a polaroid?
We have 2 kinds of polaroid camera so you'll have the option of taking a polaroid at the event or printing a polaroid from a digital photo! Please email the photo to marashiiino@gmail.com prior to the event or airdrop it to us on the day.
For digital photos, since we're working with black and white film, high contrast photos are best. You can use a monochrome filter to see roughly what the polaroid will turn out like!
For taking polaroids on the day, the space is quite light coloured so dark fabrics pop better on camera. Feel free to wear dark coloured clothes if that's something you care about.
- Refunds?
Full refunds are available before 7 days prior to the event. 50% refund available more than 3 days from the event. No refunds when you cancel with less than 2 days notice. Feel free to give your ticket to a friend though!
Please contact us if you want a refund with less than 7 days prior to the event.
- Can I bring something to transfer the polaroid onto?
Yes! Although the watercolour paper shows up the best, people are able to transfer polaroids onto rocks, glass, sea shells etc. We can't guarantee that what you bring in will 100% work but we'll try out best. Light coloured and smooth surfaces are best for the black and white polaroid to show up well.
- Where can I see photos/videos of the workshop?
Check out the instagram or tiktok @marashiiino
- What will we be doing during the event?
First we'll take the black and white polaroid photos (or printing them from photos you've chosen). We'll then teach you how to transfer them onto watercolour paper.
- How do I find the studio?
The art studio is on the top floor of the building. We'll be sending out an email with photos and details of how to find the venue! You have to walk up two flights of stairs
