Event description

"We do not fear anarchy, we invoke it" — Bakunin

Sydney Anarchist Conference will bring together activists, organisers, dreamers, and revolutionaries across the continent for a day of discussion about the key ideas of anarchism and libertarian socialism, and how we can use them to smash capitalism and win a better world - without bosses, rulers, or masters.

From Black Lives Matter to workplace and climate strikes, workers across the world have stood against austerity, oppression, and intensified exploitation in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. It is critical now as it ever has been to declare that a better world is possible: that when we protest, strike, and organise against the government and bosses, we can run society to the benefit of the working class and win liberation for all.

We invite all those interested in the ideas of socialism and anarchism to attend. The program is designed for those with all levels of familiarity will include sessions discussing the basics of anarchism, revolutionary unionism, decolonisation, imperialism and racism, queer oppression and the nuclear family, and many more.

Details

This conference will take place on the lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, who have never ceded sovereignty. Just as there is no justice on stolen land, there is no anarchy without decolonisation.

A full program will be released closer to the day – register now to save the date and stay informed!

We are proud that this conference is being supported and promoted by Jura Books, The Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) Warrang, and Black Flag Sydney.
