Join the Sydney Blues Society for an afternoon and evening of electrifying performances as we celebrate International Women's Day with an all-female lineup of incredible blues, soul, rock and indie talent! From soulful torch songs to foot-stomping blues rock, this night is a testament to the power and passion of women in music.

🌟 FEATURING:

🎤 Kim Girdlestone – A captivating singer-songwriter known for her soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Kim's performance of Daisy-Chain Blues blends folk, soul, and blues, creating an intimate and deeply moving musical journey.

🎶 Ukulele Friday – A spirited sister duo, Jen Reynolds and Gabrielle Liddle, who strummed their way into happiness during the pandemic and never looked back! What started as a way to brighten their own days has grown into a joyful musical adventure. Based in Brisbane, they now host a lively monthly ukulele jam, bringing together fellow strummers and singers for feel-good tunes and plenty of laughs. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just love the vibe, Ukulele Friday is all about spreading smiles, one chord at a time!

🔥 Hour Language – An innovative ensemble of Sydney-based teenage girls who are turning heads with their raw sound and electrifying energy. Going viral on TikTok with their covers of contemporary indie pop and rock, this is an upcoming band to keep an eye on. Their new single, Purple Lady, captures youthful ambition and self-discovery.

🎹 The Torch Song Trio featuring Liza Ohlback, Ali Penney, and Angela McCloy – Three of the finest voices in Australian blues come together for a deeply moving performance. Liza Ohlback (2024 Sydney Blues Female Vocalist Award Winner), Ali Penney (2024 Sydney Blues Keyboard Award Winner), and Angela McCloy (2024 Sydney Blues Female Vocalist Award Nominee) bring piano ballads to life with soaring vocals and unmatched musicianship—expect to be moved to tears of joy and sorrow with every note.

🎸 Bonnie Kay & The Sweet Patooties – A 5-piece powerhouse of ladies performing sassy, bawdy blues and jazzfrom the 1920s, '30s, and beyond. With four-part harmonies, horn lines, dynamite soloists, and a red-hot rhythm section, this band swings, drives, jives, and will knock your socks off!

Ita & The Choirgirls - is an electrifying all-women Cold Chisel Sing-A-Long band that brings a powerful, high-energy twist to the legendary Aussie rock anthems. Fronted by powerhouse vocals from Fran "Big Mama" Liddle and Courtney Severini and backed by a dynamic lineup of seasoned Sydney blues musicians Beck Clarke, Catherine Golden, Christina Crofts and Samantha Wong, the band delivers raw, authentic performances that celebrate the spirit of Cold Chisel while adding their own fierce and soulful edge.
