Description
Paper Jewels
This workshop allows participants to engage with a folding activity rooted in modular origami, where multiple units come together to a form a larger and more intricate structure that can be used as a necklace or brooch. With its elegant curves and colourful surfaces coming from recycled materials like old maps, the creative and aesthetic aspects of the experience are enhanced. Repurposing materials empowers participants to experiment with colour and pattern or express personal connections to places and memories. The act of folding provides opportunities for contemplation and meditation, all while delivering the pleasure of creating. These workshops do not require any specific prior skills; what's essential is a sense of curiosity and the determination to embrace the challenges while never losing sight of the intricate, beautiful, and elegant mathematical principles at play.
