Why We March

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations in 1948, establishing 30 fundamental rights and freedoms that belong to every human being.

Yet making these rights a reality requires more than words. It requires education, understanding and people willing to stand together.

This march is an opportunity to:

  • Celebrate Australia's rich cultural and religious diversity.

  • Promote awareness of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

  • Encourage friendship and cooperation between communities.

  • Demonstrate that our shared humanity is stronger than our differences.

  • Inspire individuals and organisations to take positive action for human rights.

Everyone Is Welcome

We warmly invite community organisations, cultural and religious groups, embassy representatives, human rights advocates, students, families and members of the public to participate.

Whether you represent an organisation or simply believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, we invite you to walk with us.

Registration is free.

We encourage participants to register through Humanitix so we can plan for attendance and communicate important event information.
