What is this about?

A year has flown by so quickly since Syd Meetup launched in March 2022 and to celebrate, we're off to something VERY NEW and unique - a FUN venue with 5 gaming challenges in teams of 2-6 with pizza and drinks. 🎲 🤩

Following this, I'm excited to show you one of Sydney's newest breweries for afterparty beers. 🍺

What dates and times?

Saturday 18th March (1:30 pm to late)

Sunday 19th March (TBC subject to demand)

Please arrive at 1:30 pm SHARP for game introductions.

Sounds awesome! How do I partake and reserve a spot?

There will be up to 2 groups (pending popularity) running one on each day:

The first group partaking in the morning/noon session followed by drinks at the brewery after lunch.
The second group will commence in the late arvo/evening session followed by drinks at the brewery as well.

Exact groups (depending on numbers) to be confirmed closer to the dates - watch this space!

To reserve a spot, please place a minimum of 50% deposit.

How much per person and what's included?

Hijinx Hotel has kindly offered us a 20% off Summer Special 😇 - $40 per head includes:

- 1 set of 5 challenge rooms

- One pizza for every 2 participants

- Standard drink token (beer, wine, soft drink)

- A private reserved space to mingle, eat/drink after the games for about an hour.

Can I bring a +1, +2, etc?

Sure! You can opt to select additional though preferably book individually so it's easier in the event of a refund.

I'm bringing a +1 or I know others joining my group as well, can we be in the same team?

Of course! Just let me know upon arrival. Otherwise I will assign at random.

Are <18 years permitted?

Yes! The only difference is a non-alcoholic drink can be redeemed.

If I book and pay a spot, is my group guaranteed on going ahead?

No. Depending on demand, you will have the choice to accept a full refund or join an alternative group if your group is cancelled due to insufficient numbers (no less than 4). So spread the word and share! You will have the option of selecting multiple sessions in the form.

I'm unsure of my schedule, can I attend anytime and join a team on short notice?

Unfortunately, it is not recommended as you may miss out on some fun and it is difficult to keep up at bare minimum - the venue may even refuse entry for late arrivals depending on how busy they are! Please plan travels accordingly. 😉

How do I order additional food and beverages?

You can only order and consume out of the game period. Hence feel free to arrive earlier or continue hanging out at Hijinx during Brewery drinks.
Let me know if you have any dietary requirements no later than a week beforehand.

I'm interested in only joining for Hijinx and/or Brewery drinks. Can I come along?

Certainly! Just stay tuned for the exact times when we'll be meeting at the brewery but as always, you're more than welcome to turn up anytime during the meetup, earlier and/or stay past the booking period. If you don't wish to participate in games, you're welcome to just eat/drink at Hijinx with others in the same situation and join us in the Brewery afterward.

How do I get there?

There is limited parking so plan ahead of time if you wish to drive. The best public transport is about a 15 min walk from Mascot Station 🚉 (please check Google Maps). Several buses stop nearby so there are multiple ways depending where you're coming from. Otherwise, to be 100% certain, you can always Uber it!

What's the refund policy and are they transferrable?

Contact me for further details - yes tickets are transferrable. Please note Hijinx require a 50% deposit of minimum numbers no later than 30 business days, i.e. Monday 6th February. If you can no longer attend past this date, let me know ASAP.

Suffice to say, it is generally easier to reserve a spot last minute than it is to obtain a refund for last min cancellations. Hence if you are still interested past Feb 6th, contact me ASAP and we should be able to increase numbers depending on availability.

I love games and wish I could try out the other challenges - can I play more than once?

On the condition should we result in more than one group running and there are places available in the latter group(s), it is subject to the Functions Team but let me know if you keen to book more than once.

If you've played at Hijinx before and wish to play other challenges you didn't experience, let me know and I will assign you in the respective team.
