Join Us for a Special Fundraising Lunch – Help Keep At-Risk Youth Safe

Join us on Tuesday, 18th February, at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel for a fundraising lunch dedicated to supporting at-risk youth in Redfern.

Hear from Tom Tefler, Manager of PCYC City of Sydney (Woolloomooloo), and Leonie Durham, Senior Constable, Central Metropolitan Youth Command, as they share insights into PCYC’s life-changing programs, the urgent need to support Redfern’s youth, and how our fundraiser to purchase a mini-van will provide safe transport to PCYC Woolloomooloo, ensuring continued access to sports, education, and life skills programs.

A Legacy of Support – Rotary & PCYC

The Rotary Club of Sydney has a proud history with PCYC, dating back to 1937, when we helped fund the very first PCYC Club in Woolloomooloo. Since then, Rotary Clubs across NSW have supported PCYC in its mission to break cycles of disadvantage through crime prevention, vocational education, and youth development programs.

Why This Fundraiser Matters

With the PCYC Redfern Club closed for redevelopment, local youth have been left without a safe, supportive space—putting them at greater risk of crime and violence on the streets. No alternative arrangements have been made, leaving them vulnerable and without access to the vital programs that keep them engaged, empowered, and on the right path.

That’s why we need your help!

By funding a mini-van, we can transport Redfern’s youth to PCYC Woolloomooloo, giving them a secure and welcoming place to participate in mentorship, sports, and educational opportunities—programs that truly change lives. The van will also be used for other PCYC activities, benefiting both Redfern and Woolloomooloo communities.
