What if the group chat became a live event and everyone brought slides?
Sydney’s Biggest Hot Take Social is a live PowerPoint battle where selected presenters take the stage to defend their most unpopular opinions (no more than 3 mins per presentation)
From relationship debates and pop-culture conspiracies to questionable food opinions, no topic is safe. After hearing each hot take, the audience will vote to crown the night’s most convincing or most entertaining presenter.
The winner takes home a $100 cash prize.

- Is this event 18+
Yes. This is an 18+ event. Please bring valid photo identification.
- Do I need to Present to attend?
Not at all! Most guests will be attending to watch, vote, mingle and enjoy the event. Presenting is completely optional.
- How do I apply to present?
Complete the presenter application form here:

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection. Successful applicants will be contacted with further information.
- What does a presentation involve?
Selected presenters will defend one unpopular opinion using a maximum of three slides created in Canva or Google Slides.
- What kinds of unpopular opinions are allowed?
Fun, bold and debatable opinions about relationships, food, music, pop culture, work, social media and everyday life are welcome. Hateful, discriminatory or targeted harmful content will not be accepted.
- Will food and drinks be available?
Yes. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from Blackwattle Bar + Brewery.
