Sensual Shibari is a class for all rope humans, whether just starting out, or with experience. The class will explore sensuality in rope, assisting attendees to explore and reflect upon what their sensual profile is in rope. The workshop will aim to grow capacity through exploration of topics often considered taboo both in and outside the kink scene, and how through rope we might explore fantasies with a partner.

If you are able to tie a single column you will be able to participate in this workshop. Other than following along with the structure of the class, there are no pre-requisites of prescribing to a specific style, or tying with a specific form of rope or type of body. Rope is for all bodies.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Ropes, safety shears, a water bottle, any comfort items needed & some snacks, and a favourite floor mat if you have one!

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED

Must be able to tie a single column consistently

WHERE? NEW SOUTH WALES / Private Annandale venue close to PT, exact address provided to ticket holders the day before the event with details of parking and transport.

ACCESSIBILITY: There is a steep flight of stairs with 2 turns up into the workshop space of the venue, please reach out to us if this may be of concern to you so that we can provide more information! Inside the venue there are 3 steps leading down to the hallway to the kichen area, and another 3 steps leading down into the kitchen space which leads to the bathroom.

YOUR FACILITATOR - HIMBOY

With over 8 years of experience in kink, including co-founding the shibari space Melbourne Community Rope in Naarm, Himboy is an experienced educator and space holder. In addition, he has previously taught at Peer Rope Melbourne, Mannhaus’ ‘The Establishment’ series, Hitchcraft Sydney, as well as in private consultations and sessions since 2019.

Presenting adult education on a range of topics, from rope and movement, to bottom education and other BDSM topics, he focuses on developing accessibility in his teaching, considering intersectionality, peer support methodologies and trauma informed approaches.

A lifelong learner, he frequently attends classes in person and online from a range of teachers, from Tifereth’s visits to Australia, to Karada House’s Queer Rope conferences, to the wonderful historical work of Midori, and many others.
