Event description

Urban Agriculture Forum x Community Gardens Australia Gathering 2023 - Illawarra Tour

Come on a journey to the Illawarra and some fabulous urban agriculture sites. We will meet at NCIE at Redfern, Sydney at 8:00 and will travel by bus to a number of sites, before returning back to NCIE at the end of the tour.

Starting at Dapto Community Farm for a tour with their volunteers then on to Green Connect, a social enterprise supporting young people and refugees. We will have lunch here before heading to Pope's Produce, an excellent example of small scale urban agriculture. This backyard farm will inspire you! 

Our final stop will be at Darkes Glenburnie Orchard for a tour of their property where they produce fruit, cider, honey and mead. We will sample their cider before heading back to Sydney. 

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided.
