    Event description

Like a (Queer) Virgin is a fun and fierce look at firsts. First questions about sexuality, first ponderings of gender expression and of course - first sex. In this Uncensored talk, join our LGBTQIA+ panel to hear about their experiences of sexuality, gender, relationships, love, f*cking and f*ck ups. Learn the LGBTQIA+ experiences Happy Healthy Harrold failed to mention and finally receive the rainbow sex-ed you missed in school. Our panel is made up of LGBTQIA+ leaders in their 20s and 30s who are experts in wrestling with all things queer. Armed with intersectional identities and a wealth of humorous and heart-warming (cringe-worthy?) stories, these fab queers are ready for your questions! Class is in and the teachers are cute!

    Speakers:

    • Erin Spencer (they/them) is the co-founder and director of Sock Drawer Heroes, the first ever physical and online store dedicated to gender expression for the whole trans and gender diverse community in Australia.
    • Laneikka Denne (she/they) is a queer writer and actor from Western Sydney who places young, queer humans at the heart of her work
    • Miranda Aguilar (they/them) is a queer, Filipinx writer, creative producer and community arts worker whose work spans stage, screen and beyond.

    Guest Curator:
Felicity Nicol (she/her) is a queer and disabled writer, director and performance maker who has worked around Australia and the world. She is a keen advocate for LGBTQIA+ youth and a current Curatorial Associate for Sydney WorldPride..

Brought to you by Respect.Now.Always. and Sydney WorldPride.
