Sylva Quartet plays Scandinavian Folk Music
Church Street Studios
Camperdown NSW, Australia
Event description
Sylva Quartet is a dynamic new ensemble consisting of Sydney Conservatorium of Music graduates Miranda Ilchef, Marian Kwon, Sierra Sharman and Francis Yoon. In this debut concert they present a suite of Scandinavian folk music arranged for string quartet, blending the warmth and character of folk melodies with the richness of the classical music tradition to evoke the natural landscape and mythology of Northern Europe. They will also perform Reqs, a lively dance by Franghiz Ali-Zadeh, composed as part of the Kronos Quartet’s Fifty For the Future project.
