Symphony Orchestra Concert 2026
Description
Join us for a spectacular evening with the HVGS Symphony Orchestra!
A Symphonic Musical Feast of some of the greatest melodies and musical atmosphere ever created by human intelligence (HI). Celebrating the return of great symphonic masterpieces from the classical and popular styles which challenge and inspire, embracing student agency, authenticity and diversity. The concert will feature instrumental and orchestral soloists from various years, collaborating with the HVGS Chorus and Elective Music students for an uplifting epic ABBA Mamma Mia finale.
Another first for HVGS will be the world premier of an Electronic & Acoustic work "300 Seconds Until Light" composed and conducted by professional composer Mr Basil Hogios (HVGS Composer in Residence 2026) and inspired by the creative human intelligence of HVGS orchestral students. Our inaugural IB DP Music class will bring this work to life with their erudite explanation of the unfamiliar entwined within a message of "Hope".
