Join us at the Mexican Cultural Institute for a unique culinary experience exploring the flavors, ingredients, and traditions of Tabasco, Mexico with acclaimed chef Lupita Vidal, named Mexico’s Best Chef 2025.

Known for its rivers, lagoons, wetlands, tropical landscapes, and rich culinary traditions, Tabasco is a land deeply connected to water—and to the flavors created by fire, smoke, and ancestral cooking techniques.

During this 60–90 minute experience, Chef Lupita Vidal will take us on a flavorful journey through Tabasco’s cuisine, combining live cooking demonstrations, storytelling, tasting, and hands-on participation.

What to Expect

Throughout the workshop, Chef Lupita will introduce participants to traditional ingredients and techniques that are central to Tabascan cooking, while sharing stories about the region’s culinary heritage.

A Taste of Tabasco

The experience includes a tasting of the preparations made during the workshop, giving participants the opportunity to experience the flavors and techniques discussed throughout the demonstration.

Chef Lupita will also bring select ingredients and traditional culinary elements from Tabasco, including cacao, chiles, spices, and traditional jícaras and clay vessels, creating an experience that connects food, culture, and place.

About Chef Lupita Vidal

Chef Lupita Vidal is a chef, culinary director, and co-founder of Grupo Chef Lupita Vidal, based in Villahermosa, Tabasco. Her work celebrates the culinary traditions, ingredients, and cultural heritage of her home state while bringing the flavors of Tabasco to new audiences.
