WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

Part A – Growing Up Digital | Thursday 14th May 2026, 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Young people are navigating a complex online landscape that shapes their identity, relationships, and mental health. This session examines how digital culture affects these areas of development, and provides strategies to help children and adolescents build healthier digital habits and deeper real-world connections.

Part B – Emotional Regulation Thursday 28th May 2026, 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Building on the themes of Growing Up Digital, this session explores how constant stimulation and social pressures—both online and offline—affect young people’s capacity for emotional regulation. From a brain development perspective, we’ll unpack the crucial role of co-regulation and share practical strategies to support emotional awareness and resilience in children and adolescents.  

Together, these sessions will offer understanding, empathy, and actionable steps to help the next generation stay grounded—both online and in life.

ABOUT OUR FACILITATORS

Steph Reedman - steph.newconnections@gmail.com 

With over 10 years of experience supporting children and adolescents in schools and private practice settings, Steph Reedman is passionate about early intervention in mental health and emotional well-being. She believes every young person carries intrinsic worth and value, and she strives to create safe, welcoming spaces where they feel seen, heard, and understood. In addition to her professional training, Steph’s lived experience as a parent and foster carer has deepened her understanding of trauma-informed practices, attachment, and the complex challenges facing young people and their families today. Steph brings compassion, warmth, and a touch of humour to her work, with a focus on supporting adults to make meaningful connections with their young person.

• Registration from 5:00pm for a 5:30pm start;

• Catering: A light supper will be provided on both evenings and a complimentary tea and coffee station will also be made available to you to help yourself to at any time.

• Concludes 8:30pm;

• Free onsite parking available (please note, entry to Orphanage carpark is accessible via Mitchell Street).

ABOUT TABOR ASCEND

This means workshops can be completed for a variety of purposes including personal or professional development; to obtain a micro-credential; or to use toward a higher education award.
