Tailor Birds @Topi Topi Retreat

We are so excited to be hosting Tailor Birds/Sophie Kinston for her last gig in Australia before spreading her wing and heads back to Europe. This is not to be missed as it is a one time event that may not happen again for sometime. 

Sound immersion and Soul Movement

Ashari and Sophie are collaborating to bring you an experience of deep soul quenching connection and heartfelt nourishing vibrations. Through gentle guided movement we will connect to the beautiful land that we gather on, Worimi Country, . Sophie will then take us on a lushness journey being bathed in the dreamy folky sounds of her 5 string electric violin and live looping goodness.

Days Events

1pm Arrive to soak in the healing and nourishing vibes of Topi Topi as you walk barefoot on the land. 

1.30pm Ashari will gather you to connect to country through movement and will guide you into a place where you can best receive Tailor Birds sweet song. 

3.30-5 Enjoy sharing some food, good company and maybe a circle of instruments to jam into the late afternoon.

Who is Tailor Birds?

Tailor Birds is the creation of Sophia Kinston, singer/songwriter, and electric violinist.  The Tailor Birds music is both energising and transformative.Having toured internationally through Australia and Europe, since 2012, performing solo but also collaborating with numerous musicians dependent on where Tailor Birds tours, the music is ever changing.  

Over the past year or so, Tailor Birds been working with the Plant Wave, a contraption that turns the electrical energetic currents of plants, any living beings, even food, and turns them into music.  This unique energy is fed into the music and brings the music full circle.  There is nothing like connecting to Plant waves to understand we are all made of energy and therefor all connected.

Many ask Sophie what inspires the music…..and it’s simple – the people. Inspired by the people she meets, and the stories she hears, this music is about the hopes and dreams of us all. “Being a band is not the thing I think about, as bands come and go.  But the thing that sticks, is the music, the energy, the passion, and most importantly the artistry.  Baring your soul I guess.

What to Bring

You will not want to miss the opportunity to get comfy and soak in the sounds so bring something comfortable to lay/sit on (mat, blanket, pillow etc)

Also we would love to share some food so please bring a plate to share if this is possible for you.
