Tailor Made - Term 3 2020
Event description
Take your sewing to the next level and learn the skills to tailor clothes for a perfect personal fit!
This course will enable you to work with commercial patterns to adapt size, fit, and design details to make your own garments perfectly tailored to you.
There is also the opportunity to learn to make your own pattern blocks from your body measurements to create your own custom designs.
Best suited to for Intermediate sewists with some previous sewing experience. Please get in touch with any questions about whether this course is suited to you.
This 10 week course, now running in two time slots - please select which time slot you want to enroll for in your booking options:
Tuesday evening, 6-8pm, from 21st July - 22nd September 2020.
or
Friday mornings, 10am-12pm from 24th July - 25th September 2020
What’s included:
- Small class size ensures excellent one-on-one time as well as opportunities to learn from each others' projects.
- 20 hours professional tuition from an experienced tutor.
- Advice on suitable fabrics, designs and details to suit you.
- Access to any fabrics, notions and patterns in our extensive haberdashery collection
- Full use of sewing machines and tools.
- Tools for pattern making including professional tissue paper.
- Great company in a small group of like-minded people.
- Re-purposing of any fabric off-cuts and scraps to reduce landfill.
- Tea and coffee.
What you’ll need:
- An idea for a garment you want to make.
- Some prior sewing experience is an advantage - see our Sewing For Beginners and Freestyle Sewing courses if you'd like to build up to this.
- Optional: Your pattern, fabric etc (You are welcome to explore our haberdashery swap shop before or during the first class to see what we have available.)
