Want to learn more about the world of Asian desserts? Join us in this hands-on Taiwanese Pastry workshop!
Taiwanese desserts are not too sweet, but decadent in all of the right places. They have influence coming from many different countries and utilise unique ingredients that are sweet as well as savoury.
Come by, ready to get your hands dirty, meet new people and learn from your expert teacher, Cristina. With a refreshing welcome drink in hand, you will be taken through the ingredients and techniques that make Taiwanese pastries so special.
By the end of class, you will get to sample some pastries with a cuppa at our communal dining table and take the rest of your hard work home to enjoy!
In this class we will cover:Â
- Background information on Taiwanese and other Asian pastries
- How to make three different Taiwanese pastries (Taiwanese Mungbean Mooncake, red bean mooncake and Shao bing - a crispy, flaky flatbread) A perfect trio to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival (Full Moon Festival) this year!
- Variations on the recipe to encourage further experimentation!Â
