Event description

Taiwanese desserts are not too sweet, but decadent in all of the right places. Influenced by countries as diverse as China, Japan and United States, they utilise unique ingredients to produce the perfect balance of sweet and savoury.

Come in ready to get your hands dirty, meet new people and learn from your expert teacher, Cristina. With a refreshing welcome drink in hand, you will be taken through the ingredients and techniques that make Taiwanese pastries so special.

In this class we will cover:

  • Background information on Taiwanese and other Asian pastries
  • How to make THREE different Taiwanese pastries (Taiwanese mung bean Mooncake, Azuki bean pastry and savoury flatbread!)
  • Variations on the recipe to encourage further experimentation!

By the end of class, you will get to sample some pastries with a cuppa at our communal dining table and take the rest of your hard work home to enjoy!

Important information: The recipes used in the workshop can be accommodated for vegetarian and dairy-free.
