Entry instructions

The main entrance is via flat double glass doors leading directly into the registration desk, dining area, lab, and presentation room. We recommend arriving from 2 pm on Thursday to allow time to check in, find your room, pitch your tent if needed, and meet fellow citizen scientists over a cuppa.

After entry instructions

Please enter through the front double doors and proceed to the registration desk to check in. The venue has multiple communal spaces that are in use throughout the event, such as the dinning and presentation rooms, science lab, playground and kids area. With 200 people it can be a hubbub of activity and noise. If you need low sensory breaks we recommend scheduling time in your days and using your dorm room or tent, or finding a quieter corner of the venue.

Hazards

Please enter through the front double doors and proceed to the registration desk to check in. The venue has several shared spaces in use throughout the event, including the dining and presentation rooms, science lab, playground and kids’ area. With around 200 people on site, it can be lively, busy and at times quite noisy. If you benefit from lower sensory environments, we recommend planning regular quiet breaks into your day. You can use your dorm room or tent, or seek out a quieter corner of the venue when needed.

Toilet location

Riverbend Youth Centre has wheelchair accessible facilities, including communal accessible toilets and one bunk room with its own accessible bathroom. During field trips, toilets will be bush loos. A clear and respectful briefing on how to use them will be provided during the safety induction on Thursday evening, with reminders each morning out in the field.
