Take Flight - A Northwest Composer Premiere

The Walla Walla Choral Society invites you to join us for another musical gift to the Walla Walla Valley on June 1 as we present a program of songs by James Knox and other composers. 

The highlight of this concert will be Knox’s Take Flight, a composition scored for chorus, string orchestra, brass ensemble, piano and percussion. We have the honor to present the world premiere of this beautiful and moving piece which brings a message of hope, freedom, and encouragement.

James W. Knox, who will be our guest for the weekend and will conduct at least one of his original compositions, is an internationally-known composer and Professor of Music at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Oregon.

He has worked with distinguished conductors and composers from around the world. As a major Northwest composer, his music has been performed in the US, Canada, South America and across Europe. Professor Knox holds a Bachelor of Science in Music/Minor in History, and a Master of Music in Conducting and Education.
