Description

Arte Ricca is a rich and unique gathering of art and people. Emerging and established contemporary artists, the local community and The Beehive Montessori School all come together to showcase the visual arts and celebrate community connection.

This year, the Arte Ricca Exhibition presents new work by over thirty artists working across a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, ceramics and illustration, incorporating both traditional and avant-garde materials and techniques.

To celebrate the final day of the Arte Ricca Exhibition, there will be a Pop Up Market on Sunday 8th November from 10am - 3pm. The outdoor market will showcase handmade works from West Australian artisans and designers and include a range of bespoke jewellery, ceramics, sustainable swimwear, organic cotton clothing, soaps, candles, bags, cushions and more!

The Pop Up Market will be a family fun affair, including a kids art workshop running in both the morning and afternoon. More details below!

Dr John Olsen was one of Australia’s most celebrated artists. Olsen’s signature style relies on a continuous, calligraphic line that loops, wanders, and dances across the surface, capturing movement, energy, and a sense of exploration. Olsen was inspired by Swiss Bauhaus artist Paul Klee, who famously defined drawing as "taking a line for a walk"!

We invite your children to come and be inspired by John Olsen and Paul Klee, and take their own line on a journey, through an art workshop run by ArtPod founder, Karen Sabitay.

After rolling a background colour onto a canvas, children will be encouraged to explore and paint all sorts of lines using dye from the center - meandering, zig zagging, curving, twisting, broken, squiggly - the list goes on! Then, using a permanent black marker, children will create their own imaginary world to take home - under the sea, or outer space, or erupting from a volcano… the possibilities are endless!

The morning workshop will run from 10:00 - 11:30am, and the afternoon workshop from 1:00 - 2:30pm.

Children of all ages are welcome to attend.

We have limited seats available for each session - secure your tickets now!
