Taking Stock: Stock and Farm Water Audit Workshop Tumbarumba
Event description
Holbrook Landcare Network's successful Stock and Farm Water Audit Workshops are back for 2025!Â
What is a Stock and Farm Water Audit?
Your stock and farm water audit is a really valuable process to undertake which helps you visualise and assess how much water you need on farm to support livestock production and whether your current storage and infrastructure will support what you intend to carry during a challenging dry season or when trying to seize a new opportunity on-farm.
It's all up in my head. Why do I need to attend a workshop?
If you've got it all up in your head that's great, but what happens when you hire a new farm hand or setting up succession in the business, or if you want go on holiday or are thinking about financing new infrastructure? Doing your water audit helps get all the details you know like the back of your hand onto a piece of paper which can set you up for success. It allows you to establish a benchmark, and objective position on your farm water situation and whether there is the capacity in that system to get you through a summer, manage improved water quality to maintain or boost production, and see where there might be gaps and opportunities for improvement. Conducting your audit and building it into a Farm Water Management Plan is a great opportunity to use your farm water data just like you use your livestock, feed and budget - to inform better decision on farm.
I'm in! Tell me more about the workshop!
Join the HLN Team and our farm water expert Peter Smith from Sapphire Irrigation in Tumbarumba on Thursday 6th March.
