Betting on the future: Teaching about gambling harms

Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation invites you to join our Talk Money webinar exploring gambling issues and strategies for addressing gambling awareness and harms as part of financial literacy education in schools.

Teachers are seeing the impacts of gambling‑like behaviours every day — in the classroom conversations, the gaming habits, the sports culture, and the subtle normalisation happening across social media. Young people are being exposed earlier and more often, and educators are increasingly on the front line of helping them make sense of it.

Join us for an engaging, practical webinar designed to strengthen your financial literacy program with evidence‑based gambling awareness education. You’ll gain fresh insights into emerging trends, learn strategies that genuinely resonate with young people, and leave with ready‑to‑use activities that build critical thinking, resilience, and lifelong financial wellbeing.

If you’re committed to empowering students to navigate a world where gambling influences are everywhere, this is a session you’ll want to be part of.

Join the webinar: Tuesday, 20 October from 4pm AEDT

Australian Eastern Daylight Time: 4pm - NSW, VIC, TAS, 3pm - QLD, 2.30pm - SA, 1pm - Perth, 2.30pm - NT

The webinar will run during 2026 GambleAware Week NSW, which is the week of 19-25 October. GambleAware Week is an annual initiative that brings communities together to raise awareness of gambling harm and encourage conversations about support.
