Talk: Preparing for Examinations and Study Tips
Description
Students face three broad challenges when studying: getting to their desks, staying at their desks, and working effectively while they are there. In this practical presentation, John Horrell offers strategies to help students overcome each of these challenges. He explores procrastination and motivation, the importance of developing a personal study system, how learning and memorisation occur, and the positive and negative effects of technology – including social media and artificial intelligence – on the learning process. The presentation also considers how parents can support effective study habits, reduce conflict around schoolwork, and help their children become increasingly independent learners.
