Find out more about how the media operate and what they look for in a good science story in this Australian Science Communicators event.

Brisbane-based journalists from TV, radio, print and online will join host, Jenni Metcalfe to explore the ins and outs of the media landscape in 2025.

You will learn how you can work with researchers to get a story out that appeals to the media and their audiences, while remaining true to the science. There will also be opportunities for the audience to ask our media panel questions.

Join the Queensland Australian Science Communicators (ASC) branch in person or online on Thursday May 15 at 6pm.

The Speakers

Host:

Dr Jenni Metcalfe is a former ASC President, PCST Network President and is Director of Econnect Communication. She developed media skills workshops tailored for scientists with her colleague Toss Gascoigne when both were working at CSIRO in 1992. Over the past 30 years, Econnect has run many hundreds of media and other communication skills workshops across Australia and internationally.

Natalie Bochenski, a radio and print media journalist with many years’ experience, most recently with 4BC radio
