Talking to your child about sexuality and spinal cord injury
Event description
About the webinar
This 90-minute online webinar is designed for parents and carers who want to better understand how spinal cord injury can impact their child’s sexuality, relationships, and sexual function.
The session primarily targets parents and carers of teenagers but is relevant for those with children of any age. It responds to families' requests for guidance and information, providing a candid space to discuss fostering healthy sexual development and learning about accessible sexuality.
Developing a healthy sexual identity is linked to positive adjustment after spinal cord injury. Many parents and carers feel unprepared for conversations about accessible sex education; attending this webinar will enhance your confidence to discuss these topics with your young person.
NDIS Funding Information
Training for carers and parents is claimable through the NDIS using the code 15_038_0117_1_3 in the NDIS Price Guide under Capacity-Building Supports / Improved Daily Living Skills.
